Island of Silver

On the island of Guernsey, young Lorley lives in a world alive with magic until World War I carries her father away to the trenches. As darkness spreads, a mysterious silver witch enters her life, helping Lorley preserve wonder and hope even in the face of loss.

Island of Silver is a beautifully written story that balances innocence and hardship with remarkable grace. I was drawn in by the gentle magic and stayed for the emotional depth that runs through every page. It’s a quiet, luminous novel that lingered with me long after I finished reading.

This book captured my attention through its atmosphere and held it with its heart. I loved how a child’s imagination is set against the realities of war with such sensitivity and care. It unfolds softly but leaves a powerful, lasting impression.

A Word From The Author

“The only thing you absolutely have to know is the location of the library.” These words by Albert Einstein are, in all probability, the only words he has written that I understand.

I embrace these wise words because it is how I live my life, always looking for the library, for the next wonderful book.

Listening to the stories of my grandmother, a truly magical spinner of tales, is my earliest memory of the power of stories. Then, as a child, I delighted in the first books I read (almost all from the library). As a student, studying the works of the great writers of the past, my passion for reading became “my heart’s core.”

As George R.R. Martin states so eloquently, “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies.” I think I lived those one thousand lives before I was thirty, as those of us do who love to read. It was because of this love that I started to write.

J.K. Rowling says beautifully, “I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book.”

Sometimes it makes you pick up a pen and see where your dreams take you.

Island of Silver is my dream that I hope to share with you.
